Nottingham Forest midfielder Jack Colback knew he was walking a tightrope heading into the final games of the season as he sat on 14 yellow cards before the clash against Sheffield United on Friday afternoon. Fans might have expected him to hit 15 – and therefore a three match ban – with a rash challenge or a professional foul against the Blades but very few would have bet on it being for simulation. However, that is exactly what happened, referee Andy Madley booking the Newcastle United loanee for what he adjudged to be a dive before the first 20 minutes of the game were out. The Forest fans on Twitter were not best pleased with what they saw, not least because it means it is likely to be the last they see of the flame-haired enforcer as his loan spell comes to an end. Whether it was a booking or not is up for debate, but why he was being played at left back is a whole other argument – and it seems some of the supporters were not best pleased with that particular decision either.
