Jeff Stelling has predicted that West Brom will be held to a 1-1 draw when they take on Hull City at The Hawthorns on Friday afternoon.

Albion have won all three of their home fixtures since James Shan took caretaker charge of the club, and he will be in the dugout on Good Friday for the first time after it was announced that he’ll be in charge for the rest of the season.

Stelling offered his prediction for West Brom’s meeting with Hull via Sky Sports’ Super 6, while Charlie Nicholas has backed the Baggies to win 2-1 against the Humberside club.

OPINION

West Brom cannot afford to underestimate Hull on Friday, especially because Nigel Adkins’ side won against them at the KCOM Stadium earlier this season. Jarrod Bowen could be a key player for the Tigers, who know that a win this week could firmly put them in the mix to finish in the play-offs. West Brom’s season is more or less over at this point. They have next to no chance of winning automatic promotion and they spot in the play-offs is all but guaranteed. What should be key for Shan and the Baggies players is that they enter the play-offs in a good run of form, especially at home. Aston Villa are a likely opponent for West Brom in the play-off semi-finals, and even though they have picked up four points against Dean Smith’s side this season, it will be a completely different kind of game in the play-offs. Whoever goes into those games in the best form stands the best chance of promotion and at the moment, Villa are the in-form team in the Championship.
