TalkSPORT pundit Perry Groves has revealed that he is praying Tottenham don’t make the Champions League final.

Spurs face a semi-final clash with Ajax to decide who will play either Liverpool or Barcelona in the final, having seen off Manchester City over two legs earlier this week.

However, former Arsenal man Groves has made no secret of who he will be supporting when the north Londoners take on the Dutch giants.

Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: “Can you imagine the season if that lot get through to the Champions League final, and they win it? Oh my god.

“Any other English team, great. But there is still a chance that they will be Spursy because they are the favourites. There is still a chance for them to choke. Please god, choke.

“But you have to give credit for the job Pochettino has done.”

OPINION

Groves has articulated the exact feelings of every single Arsenal fan around the globe here, and Spurs will be absolutely loving it. If there’s anything better than winning a quarter final in the manner that they did, it’s knowing that it will get right under the skin of your bitterest rivals. Arsenal should be celebrating their own place in the last four of the Europa League, but the shine has completely been taken off of that achievement, and if the unthinkable happened and both sides managed to win their respective competitions, it would be an absolute disaster for the Gunners, who would be massively eclipsed instantly. Tottenham still have a lot of work to do, make no mistake, but for the first time, belief might just be creeping into the perennial underdogs.
