Leeds United could sign Forest Green midfielder Reece Brown for a small five-figure fee in the summer, according to Football Insider.

The reputable football site reports that the compensation fee that they would have to pay the League Two outfit in order to sign him would be as little as £70,000.

The report states that this is because the 23-year-old’s contract expires at the end of this season, and has only been at the club for two campaigns in total.

Good move for Leeds?

Yes, this would be a good move for Leeds. To land a prospect like Brown for such a little compensation fee as £70,000 is fantastic for them, as that is barely anything to sign a player of his potential. Yes, he is not going to go straight into the first team, but seeing as he has scored ten goals this season and has provided 14 assists, he certainly has a lot more to give. Either way, the Whites would have landed themselves a right coup here.

Likely to happen?

Yes, it is likely that they will have to pay this fee. The assist king’s contract expires at the end of the season, which is why the sum of money is so little. Leeds would not hesitate in paying that sort of money to land a player of his talent, so the likelihood of him joining now is greater than ever. The Whites will surely be counting their lucky stars that they could be paying so little for Brown.
