Tottenham have confirmed that midfielder Harry Winks has undergone surgery on a groin injury problem on Monday (29 April).
The Lilywhites revealed via their official Twitter account that the English international went under the knife to help solve the problem, having been missing from Mauricio Pochettino’s squads for the last couple of weeks.

The 23-year-old has appeared just once in the Premier League in their last seven games, having already amassed 40 appearances across all competitions for the north Londoners this season.
Opinion
This could well be the midfielder’s season over and it would be a huge shame for someone who has played their part so admirably for Spurs. Unfortunately for the north London outfit injuries are already starting to plague Winks’ career and so surgery is the only way to properly fix the problems, otherwise he might be stuck with niggling issues throughout the whole of his time playing professional football. It remains to be seen when he will come back but the hope will be that he is ready for the club’s pre-season preparations. He will have plenty of competition to make that midfield role his own, even potentially from new arrivals to the Lilywhites, and being out on the sidelines is not going to do his cause one ounce of good. Perhaps the most disappointing thing for the midfielder is that he will likely miss out on England’s UEFA Nations League games this summer, leaving him unable to add to the three caps he currently has under his belt.
