OPINION
Steven Davis has not made the impact he and Rangers would have hoped for since his return to the club for a second spell. Signed in January on loan from Southampton, the Northern Ireland has often looked every day of his 34 years. But the midfielder had his best game for the Light Blues this year in Saturday’s 1-1 SPL draw against Kilmarnock. Recalled to the side as Steven Gerrard made four changes to the team that lost to Aberdeen in midweek, as Ryan Jack and Scott Arfield dropped to the bench, Davis buzzed with energy and ideas alongside Lassana Coulibaly and Glen Kamara in the centre of the pitch. For much of the game, he was Rangers’ outstanding player as he demonstrated there is plenty of life in the old dog yet. Bears were loving the contribution of the veteran, hailing him as “best on the pitch”, “excellent” and the “only one showing”. The main criticism? He should take more shots.

Ridiculous substitutions. Halliday and Candieas scapegoats again. Barisic not kicked his own arse all season…Grezda invisible when played. Why keep Coulibally and Kamara on when needing goals, and keep Laff and Defoe on bench? Davis is only one showing. Mon the Bears ?
