Real Madrid are likely to target West Ham United midfielder Felipe Anderson in a £65 million deal, according to Sky Sports.

The sports broadcaster reports on their live blog [21/3, 12.15pm] that the La Liga giants are prepared to swoop for the Brazilian playmaker if a deal for their prime target Eden Hazard does not happen.

The update says that the multiple Champions League winners are likely to target him in a mega-money deal worth £65 million, which is almost double the £33.5 million they paid for him in the summer from Lazio.

Good move for West Ham?

No, this would absolutely not be a good move for West Ham – not in the slightest. Anderson may have been suffering from an indifferent time of it in the last few weeks, but that does not mean that the star should leave the club. He is invaluable to their creativity, and when he is on form, he can literally tear up defences. They would then need to find a replacement if he leaves, and that is easier said than done.

Likely to happen?

This move obviously all depends on Chelsea and what they decide to do with Hazard. West Ham will be praying that he makes the move, as they no doubt do not want Anderson to leave. £65 million may be a very tempting sum of money, but the Hammers should not let this sway them. Nevertheless, it remains to be seen what will happen, because at the moment, it is in the hands of their London rivals.
