Liverpool’s Under-23s suffered a chastening derby defeat to Everton on Monday, 24 hours after the seniors were held to a goalless draw at Goodison Park. Many of the youngsters struggled against their well-drilled opponents, and supporters expressed their concern about the talent coming through. One 17-year-old escaped criticism and that was Ki-Jana Hoever, who demonstrated his immense potential in making his senior bow during Liverpool’s FA Cup defeat to Wolves in January. Hoever subsequently signed his first professional contract, and is continuing to catch the eye of those who follow the club’s rising star. However’s positioning, awareness, pace and confidence on the ball were in evidence against Everton on Monday and will be immensely encouraging to the Liverpool coaching staff. Many fans are excited about his potential and claim he is a youngster destined for the very top.

Hoever looks a freak of nature. Tagseth is such a joy to watch but the injuries and then having to overcome being tiny are huge obstacles! Larouci needs to get tested at a higher level. I have my doubts.
