OPINION
Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek made a big impact for his team when he came on in their 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday. The England intentional certainly made his presence felt in his short time on the pitch, sending an emphatic message to manager Maurizio Sarri. He wasn’t perfect, of course, but overall he had a good game and definitely did more than teammate Mateo Kovacic. He simply seems more positive than the Croatian. He wants to get forward and make things happen, even if he was restricted by his manager’s tactics here. With Jorginho off the pitch you would have thought that N’Golo Kante would be the deepest-lying midfielder for Chelsea. However, Loftus-Cheek was, for some reason, played significantly deeper than the Frenchman at times. That’s just baffling, because it doesn’t maximise either man’s natural game. Still, Loftus-Cheek did well with what little he was given by his manager on Sunday.

Really hasn’t changed much. RLC has done the most since coming on but CHO hasn’t been any better than Pedro.

Loftus Cheek has played so well it makes me wonder what Sarri sees in training in Barkley https://t.co/k9WuDJTgjZ
