Newcastle United have approached the agent of Hamburg attacker Josha Vagnoman, according to BILD.
The German newspaper claims that Crystal Palace and Brentford have also contacted the 18-year-old’s agency.
Vagnoman, who is valued up to £8.6million by his club. is primarily a left-back, but he can also play at right-back and on either wing.
He signed a deal with Hamburg last summer that extended his stay at the German second-tier club until 2021.
Good move for Newcastle?
Rafa Benitez definitely needs to strengthen his full-back options in the summer transfer window and Vagnoman could be a decent signing.
BILD says that the Germany Under-19 international is tough, has great pace and has a lot of potential.
He has made eight first team appearances for Hamburg this season, playing in four different positions.
If Benitez needs a promising youngster to add depth to his side, Vagnoman would be a welcome addition.

Likely to happen?
It is the same as every transfer link with Newcastle – it depends on Mike Ashley.
Benitez’s contract expires at the end of the season, which adds a lot of uncertainty about the Magpies’ current transfer targets for the summer window.
Ashley might be willing to spend a bit of cash on a good young player like Vagnoman, but there’s a long way to go until the transfer window re-opens and a lot can change between now and then.
