It was hard what to expect when Celtic signed winger Oliver Burke on loan from West Brom for the rest of the season.

After all, the 21-year-old was not a regular feature of the first team and fans no doubt questioned why the Hoops recruited a player who did not have many minutes under his belt.

However, he has now gone on to prove some of those doubters wrong after scoring two goals not long after his arrival at Parkhead – and due to his recent run of form, many of the fans will be gleaming from ear to ear after the recent comments he has made about his future.

“I’ve felt recently that I want to be settled and find a club where I’m happy at and enjoying my football. I sort of got sick of the whole moving around thing. I want to settle down now and, although I know this is a loan at the moment, it’s going really great for me so we’ll just have to wait and see what happens,” he said, as quoted by the Scotsman.

The young ace is hinting that he wants to make his loan move to Celtic permanent when the season ends, and that is great news for the fans as well as boss Brendan Rodgers.

It is no surprise that he is tired of being farmed out on loan to numerous clubs season after season, so the fact he is considering Celtic as a long-term destination will be music to everyone’s ears.

Regular game time with the Hoops is evidently helping him improve the level of ability that he already had, and by the end of the season, Celtic would have themselves a fully flourished first team player.

Plenty of supporters could not ask for better news, although this will no doubt be a major blow for West Brom and boss Darren Moore, who was certainly hoping to bring the flyer back to the Hawthorns at the end of the season.

However, it remains to be seen just how he would fit into their team, so Burke’s best bet is to remain with Celtic, a club where his contribution is valued.
