OPINION
Andy Halliday is one of the most popular players at Ibrox right now, with many Rangers fans gushing over the 27-year-old for his form at left-back this season. Halliday came off the bench in Rangers’ 5-0 hammering of Kilmarnock on Wednesday night to score a goal, leaving some supporters suggesting that they want Borna Barisic to be axed from Steven Gerrard’s starting line-up so that the ex-Middlesbrough man can play more. It is definitely a good idea and one that Gerrard should consider. Barisic has been pretty average since joining the Light Blues last summer while Halliday has been a real game-changer at times. It’s easy to say that after he scored a goal from left-back, but Ryan Kent plays much better when Halliday is there and it is important to not forget his man of the match display against Celtic in December. Barisic needs to be axed for upcoming games and Halliday absolutely must be the number one choice at left-back.
