Alan Shearer heaped praise on Tottenham winger Heung-min Son and claimed that the player had been simply outstanding lately.
The Premier League icon weighed in on the current goings on at Spurs and highlighted the 26-year-old following Spurs’ win over Borussia Dortmund in midweek.
Shearer noted that Son’s performance against Borussia Dortmund was another case of the attacker proving how much Mauricio Pochettino’s side rely on him.

“Son again getting prove how much Tottenham rely on him, we’ve been saying over the weeks and months how much they rely on Kane, but what about this guy?” said Shearer in a clip uploaded to Coral’s official Twitter account.
“The performances he has put in as of late have been simply outstanding.”
OPINION
Son must be beyond blushing at this point as he has been showered with praise left,right and centre in the recent weeks. However it’s no more than the attacker deserves as it’s fair to say the Spurs player has been in sensational form as of late. Just like Shearer stated, many were fearing for Spurs when Harry Kane, then Dele Alli, got injured but Son has stepped up his game to make the duo’s absence irrelevant. Hopefully the 26-year-old can keep his form going right until the end of the season as if he does it will give Spurs at least of chance of getting their hands on some silverware. While the odds are stacked against and competition is fierce when it comes to lifting the Champions League or Premier League title this season, with players like Son playing like they are. You can’t write them off just yet by any means.
