It is not often that the Newcastle fans take to Twitter to heap praise on Ayoze Perez, is it? He is no doubt the club’s scapegoat in matches and he always seemed to do something wrong. However, that did not seem to be the case in this 1-0 loss to Tottenham on Saturday if these supporters’ tweets are anything to go by. A couple of fans have commented on how good the 25-year-old’s feet were during the match, which indicates that he was running rings round the Spurs defence. He needs to carry on with this type of form, as it is clearly doing him some favours with the fans. The Spaniard was always capable of the quality the fans knew he was able to fulfil – after all, he helped inspire the tenth placed finish in the Premier League last season. This section of fans are clearly impressed with Perez – so fingers crossed he can maintain this form.
