Rangers have begun a fire sale of players as two more senior men could go before the transfer window shuts, it has been confirmed.

The Glasgow giants announced on Friday that goalkeeper Robby McCrorie, 20, and forward Andrew Dallas, 19, have joined Scottish Championship outfit Morton on loan for the rest of the season.

Steven Gerrard revealed at his media briefing on Friday, as quoted by the Daily Record, that midfielder Jordan Rossiter and goalkeeper Wes Foderingham may also head out the Ibrox exit door before the 31 January cut-off.

A late-window exodus is an inevitable consequence of the blue-chip arrivals at Rangers earlier this month. The chances of Dallas and McCrorie breaking into the first team were even more remote following the arrivals of Jermain Defoe and Steven Davis, not to mention the Friday signing of ex-Liverpool rookie Andy Firth. As for further up the chain, Gerrard has publicly admitted for the first time that former number one Foderingham and midfielder Rossiter could also head out the exit door. With Davis now competing with Scott Arfield, Lassana Coulibaly, Ryan Jack, Andy Halliday and company for a starting place in central midfield, a spell out on loan makes sense for injury-ravaged Rossiter. As for Foderingham, Gerrard has said he doesn’t want to lose the keeper. In that case, he should hang on to him for dear life. What happens if Allan McGregor gets injured? Rangers need a quality back-up, and should do what they can to keep Foderingham.
