OPINION
Both of these players would be solid signings for Celtic but it would be James McCarthy that would really get the fans excited. The 28-year-old ROI international is a brilliant player and a self-confessed Celtic fan. He started off his career at Celtic before moving to Hamilton, and he’s since made 133 appearances for Wigan and 132 appearances for Everton. He hasn’t featured this season after suffering a serious injury last season, despite being back to full fitness. Celtic have been linked with a loan move for him and are considered to be favourites for his signature. It sounds like Celtic could be ready to accelerate this loan move today, with a recruitment meeting planned in Glasgow. Norway international
