OPINION
Wolves have beaten the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham this season but don’t seem to have worked out how to play against the smaller sides, with a 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace on Wednesday night added to previous losses to Huddersfield and Cardiff. Credit must admittedly go to Roy Hodgson and his side for putting in a really solid display at Molineux, but playing against defensive-minded teams does seem to be an issue for Wolves this term. One player who was particularly poor against Palace on Wednesday was Helder Costa, with the Portugal international really struggling to make any impact on the game. Costa has been a bit hit-and-miss this season, with the 24-year-old looking unplayable one day but Championship level the next. Fan reaction to his display against Palace is illustrative of that, with many Wolves supporters obviously growing frustrated with the mercurial attacker.

I’d be happy if I never see Costa in a #wwfc shirt ever again.

Hate to say it but that was very predictable. The only space was out wide & nobody was prepared to take a man on when the 1 v 1’s Nuno talks about were clear to see. Pathetic from Costa & Cav in particular & the use of Adama well I hope he actually had a knock still!! #wwfc

So so poor tonight, nothing going forward! Jiminez making the runs but nobody spotting the pass. Costa could not be arsed! Saiss might aswell of been blind. We struggle against teams who sit back and counter… can’t go and beat Tottenham away and loose to palace at home! #WWFC

Take no pleasure in saying this, and we all want them to do well….. but Costa and Cavaleiro have been shocking again tonight #wwfc

Costa & Cav are completely ineffective when they don’t show some aggression and confidence to run at Palace’s back four. #wwfc

Bloody'el, how flat was that? Clueless going forward. What's up with Costa again? If he isn't confident now (after wrapping up the game for us at Wembley), then when will he be?! I honestly don't think him or Cav will be here next season #wwfc
