West Ham United are most likely to make Besiktas midfielder Gary Medel their next January signing, according to Claret and Hugh.
The Hammers insider website, which has extensive links inside the London Stadium, report that Medel is the club’s most likely next signing after they confirmed the arrival of free agent Samir Nasri.
Nasri joins the club on a short-term deal after a successful period of training with the first-team squad following an 18-month ban for doping offences.
Good move for West Ham?
Absolutely.
Medel is a versatile midfielder who has played at the highest level for clubs such as Inter Milan and Sevilla, while also having previous Premier League experience with Cardiff City.
The 5’7″ Chile international [Transfermarkt] will be well-known to manager and compatriot Manuel Pellegrini, who is obviously keen to improve his options in midfield in January.
Reports have suggested that Besiktas are in some financial difficulties which also means the price tag should be cheap.

Obviously there is still much negotiation to be done regarding a fee and terms of the deal, but it does look like Medel is a player the Hammers could well bring in this month.
