Valencia have agreed personal terms with West Ham striker Javier Hernandez, according to Sky Sports.

Their live transfer blog (13.31) states that the 30-year-old wants to leave for more game-time, but that West Ham do not want to sell him in January.

Valencia are on the lookout for a new striker after Michy Batshuayi’s loan was cut short.

OPINION

West Ham aren’t having a good time with strikers at the moment. First Marko Arnautovic wants out, with China reportedly making him an offer his brother can’t refuse, and now Hernandez. He wants more game-time and Valencia are prepared to offer it to him. However, it’s highly unlikely that he’ll be allowed to go anywhere until the Arnautovic mess is sorted out. After that, depending on the business that West Ham do, he might well have more game-time at the London Stadium in his eyeline. Could there be an option for West Ham to sell both of them and bring in Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson? With all due respect to both strikers, Wilson would be an upgrade on both of them. He’s on-fire this season and will come with a hefty fee. But he would be electric at the front of a West Ham attack. We think West Ham fans would quite like to swap a player who wants out and one who doesn’t play much, with one of the league’s top strikers.
