COMMENTARY
Sky Sports Transfer Centre (Thursday January 31st, 14:11) stated that Tottenham had been offered Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi on loan only to reject the idea of taking him. This left many Spurs fans frustrated on social media as several reckoned the 25-year-old attacker was worth signing on a temporary basis given that Mauricio Pochettino’s side were in need of a new forward. One even described the potential move as a no brainer and it’s easy to agree with them. Batshuayi may not have shone bright throughout his Chelsea career but he has shown glimpses of his ability and does seem like he could do a job for Spurs. This is particularly the case when you consider he would have been signed on loan rather than permanently, meaning there was little risk to the deal. It’s easy to base on the reaction of the many Tottenham fans below that the 25-year-old forward would have been a welcomed addition to Pochettino’s squad.

If this is true, we should have taken him. Even on loan.

Can’t believe we have turned down the opportunity of getting Batshuayi on loan. If true we have missed a trick. #spurs #TransferDeadlineDay

Offered Batshuayi on loan? Would have thought that'd be a no brainer for a few months?
