Opinion
Bolasie’s future at Goodison Park is as good as dead and the only reason this move might not be a permanent one is because of the finances attached to him. His contract in England is going to be head and shoulders above what any side in Belgium could afford, let alone a transfer fee on top of that and so it is likely that the Toffees are going to be paying part of his wages as he heads abroad. It should bring the winger much more confidence to be playing on a regular basis, having struggled to make a mark at Villa despite his experience of the Premier League and Championship in the past. It should also put him firmly in the shop window as Everton look for a club which will be able to snap up his signing in the summer on a permanent basis. It is a shame his time in England is coming to such a shaky end considering how impressive he has been in the past but it looks as though he does not have what it takes to be a success in the top flight any more.
