Gary Lineker raved about Tottenham attacker Harry Kane after witnessing him score in the win against Cardiff City on Tuesday.

The Match of the Day host praised the 25-year-old forward, even if a little bit sarcastically, for scoring the opening goal during his 3-0 win over the Bluebirds.

The ball seem to strike Kane and go in rather than him kick it directly into the net with Lineker highlighting that the attacker had demonstrated some ‘charmed’ skills to see his side take the lead.

“Takes real skill to score like just did. Charmed tekkers,” tweeted Lineker on his verified Twitter account.

OPINION

Lineker may have been somewhat sarcastic about Kane’s finish but he is no doubting raving about the players ability to get in that position that saw luck fall in his favour.  The BBC pundit is right to put the spotlight on the Spurs’ attacker even when it was less than a glamorous goal that he scored as it’s the player determination to follow the ball in sees him able to score. Many players wouldn’t have been as determined as Kane to get a goal and would have stopped chasing the ball down in the box once it looked like the chance had passed. However it should comes as no surprise that the forward is as hungry as ever to get on the scoresheet. The 25-year-old has scored 18 goals this season in 26 outings across all competitions and will no doubt keep scoring throughout 2019 as well. Kane given the type of player he appears to be, was also no doubt keen to get a goal against Cardiff City on Tuesday as it now means he has scored against all 28 of the opponents he has faced in the Premier League so far.
