COMMENTARY
While Newcastle United fans have been waiting all January long for their club to finally act, it seems they will only be happy if their club chase the right players. After a transfer report by the Chronicle claimed that the Magpies had submitted a loan bid for Monaco left-back Antonio Barreca, fans weren’t overly thrilled to say the least. Several complained that securing another player on a temporary basis reflected on the club in a bad light, one even claiming it was embarrassing, while another boldly stated it was these sort of deals that would force Rafa Benitez to walk away from the Magpies. It’s hard to know if the fury from fans was targeting more at the idea of another loan move rather than the fact it could mean 23-year-old Barreca arrives at the club. While the Monaco flyer is struggling to feature for his team currently, at least he is a player who should be able to be better than the club’s current options when comes to searching for back-up for first-choice left-back Paul Dummett.

Now we'll have the embarrassing scenarios of not matching the loan fees never mind purchase prices. The football club is a joke.

The most worrying part is this guy can’t get a game despite them being awful and in the relegation zone
