West Bromwich Albion are in talks with Fulham over taking midfielder Stefan Johansen on loan until the end of the season, according to Sky Sports.

The broadcaster’s live transfer blog (Thursday January 31st, 16:30) state that West Brom expect the 28-year-old central midfielder to be at their training ground this evening in order to complete a move.

Johansen, who has 46 caps for Norway, has featured 13 times for Fulham this season and was a regular fixture of their first team last season when they won promotion from the Championship.

Good move for West Brom?

Yes, Johansen would be a fantastic player to welcome on loan.

The 28-year-old was a key part of Fulham’s successful promotion campaign last season and could play a big part in helping WBA get back to the Premier League.

Johansen is a tough tackler, strong on the ball and does have an eye for a pass which will see him able to create opportunities for his teammates.

Also with it being a loan move that is being discussed, there’s little risk to this deal even if Johansen doesn’t show the form he showed for the London club last season.

Likely to happen?

It definitely sounds like Johansen is on his way to join West Brom as he is expected to be at the club’s training ground later this evening.

While time may be ticking down on the transfer window, it does seem like the Baggies are working quick enough to get this deal wrapped up before the deadline.

Johansen has been linked consistently to the Baggies this month so it’s seem very likely that they are definitely interested and will go all out to try to ensure he joins the club for the second half of the season.

Also it doesn’t seem like Fulham will put up much fight in regards to keeping him, as he isn’t a regular member of their first team anymore.
