Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has predicted that West Bromwich Albion will overcome title rivals Norwich City when they clash in the Championship this weekend.

The Baggies currently sit in fourth on 46 points, three points behind the second-placed Canaries, who are a further two behind current leaders Leeds United.

Prutton has predicted that Darren Moore’s side will overcome Norwich 3-2 at the Hawthorns on Saturday, with there being ‘every chance’ of the Canaries’ three-game winless streak being extended.

In his predictions for Sky Sports, he said: “Now this is a big game. West Brom have been trying to reel in the top two for a while, and this is a big opportunity for them to do just that.

“Norwich have failed to win their last three games, which is their worst run since their first three games of the season. There is every chance it will be four by Saturday evening.”

OPINION

This really is, as Prutton says, a big game in the Championship promotion race. Both of these teams have been right up there so far this season, and will no doubt be in the picture when May rolls around. The difference between promotion and play-offs, or the play-offs and another season in the Championship will be minuscule, and games like this can go a long way to determining fate in such a tight division. West Brom are the more in-form team out of the two, but a lack of consistency is really beginning to hurt Moore’s side in their race for automatic promotion. Norwich were on fire before Christmas but have failed to win in three and will be looking to get back to winning ways on Saturday. It is all set up for a brilliant game and Prutton’s prediction of a high-scoring win for West Brom makes sense, but this one could easily go both ways.
