Chris Sutton has delivered a damning verdict on Twitter in reaction to Rangers’ draw with Dundee on Sunday afternoon at Dens Park.

Kenny Miller initially put the hosts ahead after some diabolical defending in the first half, but Andy Halliday was able to snatch a point for Steven Gerrard’s side shortly after with a superb free kick on the edge of the box.

The BT Sport pundit summed up the result as being “two points dropped” for Rangers via his personal Twitter account, a result which comes on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Aberdeen on Wednesday.

He said: “Good battling point for Dundee Two points dropped for Rangers…”

OPINION

Steven Gerrard will no doubt be hugely disappointed with this result, as like Sutton pointed out, it is two points dropped for his side. They needed to win this clash after losing 1-0 the other day, but Celtic have now extended the gap between them in the league. This is a worst case scenario for Gerrard, but it can be argued that this result was down to the absence of Alfredo Morelos, who is currently suspended. He usually provides the edge in matches, and while Rangers were able to cope without him, his attacking threat was not there. Dundee will no doubt be elated with this point as it lifts them from the bottom of the league, but Rangers will definitely be gutted. This was not their best performance this season, and they quite rightly paid for it. The Gers sit two points below the Hoops after this game, but their rivals have a game in hand – meaning that the gap between them could be made even larger.
