Sky Sports pundit Andy Walker has predicted that Celtic will win 3-0 against Kilmarnock on Saturday afternoon at the Parkhead Stadium.

The Hoops will be hoping to usurp their opponents from the summit of the Scottish Premier League at the weekend, as they are currently sitting in first on 31 points, with Celtic just below on 30 points.

Walker believes that defender Filip Benkovic will be key to Celtic’s chances of winning this weekend, and he has claimed that much of the team’s success has been down to the 6ft 4in [Transfermarkt] ace.

“Celtic give very little away and much of their success is down to the on loan Leicester star,” he told Sky Sports.

OPINION

Walker predicting a 3-0 thumping by Celtic seems a little harsh on Kilamarnock, especially as they sit at the top of the table. However, it must be remembered that the Hoops have two games in hand over their opposition, which may explain why Kilmarnock are where they are in the league. Nevertheless, they must not take them lightly, as Celtic have proved many times this season that having quality does not always win you matches. You would have expected them to run away with the title by now, but it looks like Rangers are now in the mix this season. However, winning this game will be of the utmost importance for Brendan Rodgers on Saturday. He cannot afford to get results like the 1-1 draw with Motherwell in mid week, and even if it is not 3-0, it is hard not to see the Hoops take home the three points. Time for Celtic to get their heads down – as the last thing they need is a poor result.
