Partick Thistle are keen on a move for towering Celtic goalkeeper Conor Hazard, according to the Express, via the Daily Record (live transfer blog, 11.42am).

The 6’6″ giant spent the second-half of last season on loan at Falkirk.

Now, Partick Thistle want to snap him up on loan for the rest of this season.

Hazard hasn’t made an appearance for the Celtic first-team yet, and is behind Craig Gordon and Scott Bain in the battle for the gloves.

OPINION

This would seem to make sense. Partick Thistle are struggling in the Championship and want a new keeper. Hazard isn’t going to get a shot in the first-team anytime soon and could do with game-time for the rest of the season. Hazard did well on his previous loan spell at Falkirk, playing 11 games and keeping five clean sheets. Partick Thistle could do with a keeper of his calibre as they struggle at the bottom of the Championship. Ironically, the only team below them in the Scottish second tier is Falkirk. Craig Gordon is firmly established as the number one at Parkhead and added more credentials to his CV on Saturday as Celtic lost 1-0 to Rangers. It could and should have been much worse for Celtic, but Gordon kept them in the game right until the end with some fantastic saves. Scott Bain isn’t far behind him, and performed his ow heroics in an Old Firm win last season. It’s one position that Brendan Rodgers has well covered and it could see Hazard making the temporary switch.
