COMMENTARY
A selection of Newcastle United fans were left raving over the performance of West Brom loanee Salomon Rondon in their clash with Wolves on Sunday and it is easy to see why he is quickly becoming a favourite of the Toon Army. A powerhouse of a centre forward, he used his presence up top to dominate the likes of Conor Coady at the back and played a crucial role in Ayoze Perez’s equaliser, smashing a wicked free kick off the bar before catching the ball out wide and delivering the perfect cross from the wing. When he is not scoring the goals he is providing them but that was only a part of what he contributed at St James’ Park. A willing runner throughout, he demonstrated his exceptional work ethic to chase down lost causes and to try and make up for his own mistakes. Newcastle have got some player on their hands right now and there will no doubts be calls for his permanent signing at the end of the season.
