OPINION
It is easy to see where the Wolverhampton Wanderers fans are coming from here because Adama Traore was terrifically ineffective in his team’s 2-1 win over Newcastle United on Sunday. The Spaniard looked like a square peg in a round hole as he led the line through the middle for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side. It was gamble from Nuno to play the winger in that unfamiliar position and it’s safe to say that it didn’t work out. He has plenty of pace and is a really powerful player but he just doesn’t appear to have the technical ability to cut it at the highest level. He regularly beats his man with sheer pace but then seems to have no idea of what to do with the ball once he is free. His end product is pretty woeful and that was evident at St James’ Park. He needs to improve on that area of the game because it’s clearly holding him back at this moment in time.
