Wolverhampton Wanderers are preparing to make a permanent move for on loan striker Raul Jimenez, according to the Mirror.

The newspaper claims that Nuno Espirito Santo’s side will move for the 70-cap Mexico international either in January or in the summer.

Jimenez’s Molineux team mates are said to be hugely impressed with the Benfica loanee’s unselfish play and want the club to sign him permanently as a result.

However, Wolves are continuing to scout other attacking options alongside their Jimenez plans.

Good move for Wolves?

This would be ideal for Santo’s team. Jimenez isn’t a prolific goalscorer, never has been, but he provides so much more than mere goals for Wolves. With four strikes and four assists he’s made a solid statistical start to his career in English football, but it’s his all-round games that has earned rave reviews in Wolverhampton. His team mates are thrilled with him and it’s obvious to see why. He holds the ball up incredibly well and brings others into play, as well as creating space for his fellow team mates. For right now he is the perfect frontman for this Wolves side and they should be doing everything they can to sign him on a permanent basis.

Likely to happen?

There’s no reason why not. Jimenez seems to be enjoying his football and obviously has a good relationship with his team mates so it would make sense for him to move to England permanently. He is a talented player and the club are clearly pleased with him. What could go wrong?
