Tottenham Hotspur sent scouts to watch Hull City winger Jarrod Bowen recently, according to the Hull Daily Mail.

The newspaper claims that representatives from Mauricio Pochettino’s team were in the stands for the Tigers’ 3-2 win away at Queens Park Rangers two weeks ago.

The 21-year-old is thought to be valued at around £10million by Nigel Adkins’s side, who are not looking to actively sell their prized asset in January.

Bowen netted 15 times in all competitions last season and has already bagged another six strikes this term, clearly earning Spurs’ attention.

Good move for Tottenham?

Bowen is clearly a fantastic young talent. At 21 years of age he still has plenty of time to improve, and he is obviously lighting up the Championship already. He is a goalscoring winger and that would be valuable to Spurs, but the question is whether he’s really ready to come in and make an impact in North London? Perhaps Tottenham would sign him and loan him back to Hull, like they did with Dele Alli all those years ago – and that worked out OK, didn’t it? Bowen is a tremendous footballer with a huge future and Spurs clearly recognise that, but you just get the feeling that a move to a club of Tottenham’s size would be too much for the young man at this stage of his development.

Likely to happen?

If Spurs want a Championship player then it’s extremely likely that they will get that Championship player. £10million isn’t an obscene amount of money for a player of Bowen’s youth and talent and so if Pochettino wants the Tigers star then it’s probable that he’ll get him.
