Tottenham rising star Jaden Brown is ready to quit in January for a nominal fee, according to Football Insider.

The reliable site claim the left-back, 19, is out of contract at the end of the season and could head out of the Premier League giants rather than leave for nothing at the end of the season.

Football Insider report Brown has been the subject of an enquiry from Scottish giants Rangers, who are hoping to lure the teenager with a quicker pathway to first-team football.

Good move for Tottenham?

Losing their home-grown academy products for nominal fees is not a habit Spurs will want to get acquainted with. The club waved goodbye to highly-rated teenagers Reo Griffiths and Keanan Bennetts over the summer and they would be loathe to lose Brown, who has come up through the ranks at Tottenham and deemed good enough to have represented England at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18 and Under-19 levels. He has been a mainstay of their Under-23s in the Premier League 2 competition and is widely regarded as a first-team star in the making. It would be a kick in the teeth for the club to lose him for little more than a compensation fee.

Likely to happen?

Given that Brown is out of contract at the end of the season, there is a very good chance that January will be his last month at Tottenham. The club will be eager to at least get a fee for him if there are clear indications he won’t sign a contract extension.
