OPINION
Another game, another disappointing performance from Ayoze Perez for Newcastle United. The Spaniard is often slammed on Twitter after Magpies’ matches, and Saturday against Watford has been no different after the 1-1 draw. Perez seems to either be a match-winner for Newcastle or one of their worst players, never anywhere in the middle. One big criticism of his play is that he is too light weight, with Perez being dispossessed far too easily. That was exactly the case on Saturday against the Hornets, with Perez struggling to get hold of the ball at all. It is clear that Newcastle need a new attacking midfielder in January, with their pursuit of Atlanta United star Miguel Almiron well publicised, and these fans must be hoping that such a move comes to fruition in the coming weeks. Perez is simply not good enough at the moment, and they cannot rely upon him to create enough goals to avoid relegation.
