OPINION
Leeds United fans have not shied away from questionning Marcelo Bielsa’s methods this season, and that appears to be the case once again with the Yorkshire Evening Post reporting that Lewie Coyle is set to have his loan spell at Fleetwood Town extended. Leeds have struggled with injuries this season and even though Luke Ayling is back from injury, there are some fans who believe that Coyle, 23, could have added an extra layer of depth to what has been a paper-thin defence lately. It would make a lot of sense just to have Coyle back. He’s hardly on loan at Fleetwood to develop as a player because he is 23-years-old. It seems that Bielsa has decided to loan the full-back to the League One side just to delay what will be an inevitable permanent exit. Leeds should either cash in on the defender for good or have him sit in the fringes of their squad in case there is yet another injury crisis at Elland Road. Extending his loan deal only benefits Fleetwood and the player himself.

Not good enough for our level and would have made it by 23 if he was unfortunately

Monk sore a player in him.— Benjamin Thornton (@BenjaminTlufc) December 31, 2018
Surprised at this, given the injuries. It would have given us more cover and Ayling could have moved to CB if needed.

That seems a daft move, we could do with him to add depth to our squad
