A section of international fans were in awe of in-form Rangers winger Eros Grezda after his display in Albania’s 4-0 defeat to Scotland on Saturday evening.
Albania were blown away by the Scots in this UEFA Nations League clash, who will top their group if they win the match against Israel on Tuesday – meaning that they will be just two games away from Euro 2020 qualification.
However, despite Albania’s heavy loss, some fans on Twitter were quick to rave about 23-year-old Grezda, who signed for the Gers in the summer from Croatian outfit NK Osijek.
Many comments included “looking dangerous” and “he looks a player”.
COMMENTARY
This was a rather heavy loss for the Albania team, but that has not stopped fans from raving about the exploits of the in-form Eros Grezda. He has not really shown the Gers supporters what he is really made of this season, but boy did he do that against Motherwell last weekend. Grezda contributed a brace towards the 7-1 rout, and he demonstrated some clever play in the attack. Like one fan pointed out here, he was clearly the standout player for Albania on Saturday – which does not come as a surprise based on last Sunday’s display. He is quite clearly a talent in the making, and Steven Gerrard will no doubt be rather pleased that he has maintained his form on the international stage. We will certainly be seeing much more of the winger this season – and Rangers supporters will have their fingers crossed that he only gets better from here.
