A section of international fans have drooled over the display of Celtic midfielder Ryan Christie in Scotland’s 4-0 demolition of Albania on Saturday evening.

The Scots breezed past their opponents in this UEFA Nations League clash with goals from Ryan Fraser, Steven Fletcher and a brace from Christie’s club teammate James Forrest.

However, despite Christie not getting on the scoresheet, fans were quick to praise the 23-year-old, who was in the thick of the action – with some comments including “immense”, “outstanding” and “take a bow son”.

COMMENTARY

Ryan Christie has been in blistering form for Celtic recently, so it is no surprise that he is taking the international stage by storm as well. It is only recently that he has come into his own with the Hoops, and what an impact he is making on Brendan Rodgers’ side. He is a player who loves getting into the thick of the action and is not afraid to make runs, and this will only prove dividends for a club like Celtic during their title bid. He thoroughly deserves all of the plaudits that he can get at the moment, and this was a magnificent performance from the young ace. His spot in the Scotland starting XI does not look like it will be disappearing any time soon – especially he continues to defy everyone’s expectations of him. Christie may not have earned himself a place on the scoresheet, but one thing is for sure, he was certainly one of the most influential players on the field on Saturday.
