Celtic’s build-up play in the opening half of their Europa League clash was very impressive at times, with Tom Rogic at the heart of it as they went into the break 1-0 up. The ‘Magic Man’, as Brendan Rodgers once dubbed him, was selected in the central playmaking role in a super-attacking line-up that also included Odsonne Edouard, Ryan Christie, James Forrest, Scott Sinclair and Callum McGregor. It helped provided a sound base for Celtic to create chances in the opening half in front of what was a sparse crowd in Rosenborg. With the visitors needing to win to stay on course for a place in the Europa League knockout stages, Brendan Rodgers’ would have been happy at how his side played in the opening period, but frustrated at much of the lack of end product. Rogic had chances to add to his personal tally of four goals and four assists this season, but wasted a few half-chances and it was Scott Sinclair who broke the deadlock following outstanding play on the right flank from James Forrest. Many fans were, however, talking about Rogic’ velvet first touch.
