BBC pundit and West Brom legend Tony Brown has blasted Bailey Peacock-Farrell for a “poor” performance in Leeds United’s 4-1 defeat at The Hawthorns on Saturday night.

Darren Moore’s side were without a win in four going into the game but a change of system left the Whites defence bamboozled and Peacock-Farrell’s shoddy goalkeeping for West Brom’s second goal, when Matt Phillips’ shot from outside the area squirmed past the 22-year-old, was a huge turning point in the game.

After the game Albion’s all-time top scorer Brown admitted that Peacock-Farrell let his side down with a sub-par outing in the Black Country.

“I don’t think the keeper has helped his side this evening and I think he’s been poor,” said Brown duringĀ BBC WM 95.6‘s post-match coverage on Saturday night.

OPINION

Peacock-Farrell has been untouchable in Leeds United’s starting line-up this season having played every minute of every game in the Championship. Marcelo Bielsa may want to consider axing the 22-year-old soon though because it’s not the first time this season that the Northern Ireland international has had a shocker of a performance. West Brom were very good though and even if Peacock-Farrell was in better form, not much would have stopped Moore’s men from picking up all three points. Leeds were poor all over the pitch, especially in attack because they had chances in the first-half to get the first goal but did not take them. If they did it would have been a different game. Bielsa does have Jamal Blackman as back-up to Peacock-Farrell. If Leeds do not bounce back to winning ways after the international break then it could be a change that the Argentine makes.
