Graham Roberts was blown away by Tottenham duo Moussa Sissoko and Juan Foyth for their performances in the 1-0 win against Crystal Palace on Saturday evening.

Foyth bagged his first goal for Spurs in the second-half to earn Mauricio Pochettino’s side all three points while Sissoko continued his fine run of form with an industrious display in the heart of the midfield.

Spurs legend Roberts was delighted with the two players after the game.

“So proud of the boys end of a real hard period for us and they stuck together and particular happy for Moussa Sissoko and Foyth. Fantastic win, get some our players back and we really are on the march up,” he said via his personal Twitter account on Saturday night.

OPINION

Sissoko has been one of the most criticised Tottenham players in recent memory but his recent performances have been nothing short of sublime and he is certainly justifying his spot in Pochettino’s starting line-up amid several injuries to key players. He must continue this form though and not drop off like he did last season after he started so positively. With Mousa Dembele injured for so long, Sissoko may get an extended run in the starting line-up and consistent football is bound to help him keep up his momentum. Foyth is in the same boat but he needs to be playing much more than he is doing. Davinson Sanchez probably won’t be out injured for too long so Foyth could be dropped after the international break, but he showed on Saturday that he is there and ready to be counted on if Pochettino is faced with a selection crisis at the back.
