Alan Shearer was stunned by how easily Tottenham breezed to all three points in their 3-1 win against Chelsea at Wembley on Saturday.

Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Heung-min Son were all on target as Spurs leapfrogged the Blues in the Premier League table and ended Maurizio Sarri’s side’s unbeaten run.

Shearer was blown away by Tottenham and even claimed that they could have won by a much bigger margin considering how many other chances they had throughout the 90 minutes.

“Spurs are embarrassing Chelsea in this game, it should be at least 6-0,” the Newcastle legend said via personal Twitter account on Saturday night.

OPINION

Tottenham were simply sublime against Chelsea at Wembley this weekend and it was a performance that was worthy of putting them in contention to win the Premier League title this season. Although Manchester City and Liverpool will more than likely run away as the top two, Spurs have a really good chance of getting third place now and they have showed that they are continuing to improve – even though no one was signed in the summer transfer window. Chelsea were rank rotten though. Sarri’s side were gutless, hopeless and just did not look interested. David Luiz’s defending was actually comical. What was he doing when Kane scored in the first-half? And then after the break his shambolic attempt to tackle Son led to the South Korean scoring. When a centre-back plays that bad it is easy for any team to score goals. The only problem with Spurs this weekend was that they didn’t score more, as Shearer says.
