Rangers coach Michael Beale has said he is working closely with two Rangers strikers, Alfredo Morelos and Kyle Lafferty in a bid to getting them working better together.

Morelos is the number one striker at Ibrox with 15 goals in 25 games across all competitions.

31-year-old Lafferty has scored five goals in 18 games but the pair have only started three Premiership games together and didn’t win one of them.

Talking to the Daily Record though, Beale revealed that he was working very closely with the two forwards.

“How we split our training in terms of units, I spend a lot of time with forwards and wide players,” Beale said.

“Like all the staff I’m trying to build a relationship on the pitch with Kyle and Alfredo which I think could be very fruitful for the club.

“I think they have a good relationship off the pitch. Kyle is also very interested in why we do things. I work on the group with tactical game plans for the next game and Kyle is always asking me questions.”

OPINION
Using Lafferty and Morelos together is an option that Rangers might have to call on when needed, and getting the two working closely together can only be a good thing. Hearing Beale talk, you realise what an integral part of the Ibrox machine he is. He says that if it wasn’t for Gerrard he would be a manager himself now, and the team of Gerrard, McAllister and Beale has a huge amount of experience. It seems from watching the team play that they’re really not far from clicking on the pitch and that when they do they could be a real force in this year’s title run-in. They’re still in touch despite some poor results that they would have expected to win. Getting Morelos and Lafferty working together could be a big addition to the arsenal at Ibrox. How they must be wishing that either one of them was available for the Scottish Cup semi-final.
