Scott Brown’s future at Celtic has taken a new twist amid strong interest from two MLS clubs, according to the Scottish Sun.

The newspaper claim the Hoops skipper, 33, is wanted by title challengers and western conference champions Sporting Kansas City and their US rivals Minnesota United as they prepare to offer him a late-career payday.

The Scottish Sun report Brown is yet to agree an extension to his Celtic contract, which expires at the end of the season, even though he has admitted talks have taken place over a new deal.

OPINION

Brown is approaching a key decision that will shape how he bookends what has been a record-breaking career in which he has been the talisman and standard-bearer of Celtic’s dominance of the Scottish game. The Hoops have demonstrated over the last month that they can cope without ‘Broony’ and life without the midfield driving force now seems more palatable than it did in the past. But, Celtic are a better side with Brown in it, even though he will have blown 34 candles out on his birthday cake by the end of the season.
