A section of Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to annihilate Eros Grezda for his performance in the 2-0 win against St Mirren in Paisley on Saturday afternoon.

Grezda, 23, made his full debut for the Light Blues at a wet and windy St Mirren Park, but completely failed to impress the club’s supporters with a pretty anonymous outing.

Some Gers fans were furious with this display, with one even asking if they still have the receipt to send the summer signing back to Osijek.

COMMENTARY:

Grezda could not have been given a better game to make his full debut in to be honest. St Mirren leak goals at the back, especially in the first half, and Rangers have not stopped scoring in the Scottish Premiership this season, so he had to perform against the newly-promoted side. However the Albanian failed to live up to his billing and it might be a while now before he is back in Steven Gerrard’s starting line-up. Fans were clearly disappointed by the winger’s performance and it was met with relief when Gerrard decided to take him off and replace him with Daniel Candieas. Grezda is tied down to his contract at Ibrox until 2022, so it looks like this was a bad piece of business by Gerrard and director of football Mark Allen – hopefully they did keep hold of the receipt. Maybe they shouldn’t be using Borna Barisic as a scout.
