Tottenham could sign Barcelona attacker Malcom in the future with the Brazilian enduring a miserable start to life at the Nou Camp, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The Italian newspaper claims that Barca would want over £35.5million for the 21-year-old, who they signed for that fee from Bordeaux in the summer transfer window.

Since then, Malcom has made just two appearances off the bench for Barca, and it is understood that a move to Spurs is a “real possibility” for the pacey winger.

Good move for Tottenham?

Malcom would be an amazing signing, but not a signing that Tottenham need right now.

He could well go on to be an upgrade on players like Erik Lamela, but Spurs need to be spending money on other areas of their squad at the minute with their attacking options – besides the need for a new back-up striker – looking decent.

Malcom does need to leave Barca though because last season he rose to prominence by scoring 12 goals and supplying seven assists in 35 Ligue 1 appearances.

He won’t reach his lofty potential by playing second or third fiddle to Barcelona’s worldwide superstars.

Likely to happen?

Daniel Levy may give Mauricio Pochettino a lot of money to spend next year but only to replace players like Toby Alderweireld and Mousa Dembele, who as it stands, could leave Tottenham in the summer.

Unless someone like Lamela or Lucas Moura leaves then sure, Malcom may be targetted by the North London club, but the chances of that happening are low.

This report adds that Inter Milan are very interested in Malcom, so maybe the San Siro is a more likely destination.
