Rangers must take advantage of the potential imminent availability of Celtic loanee Daniel Arzani and snap him up in December.

Ibrox would roar on two fronts if the Scottish giants took the Manchester City dazzler away from their bitter rivals and also immediately got the best from a star-in-the-making.

Australian site World Game claim Hoops attacker, 19, has a clause in his two-year Celtic loan allowing him to return to parent club City if he does not make a first-team appearance by December.

With just six weeks left to save his Celtic career, the likelihood grows that he will return to Manchester at the end of this year and then head out on a fresh loan.

Arzani is nowhere near the first-team set-up at the Hoops, strutting his stuff in front of a couple of hundred fans on Monday afternoons in Greenock rather than a packed Parkhead.

It is not easily explained why as Brendan Rodgers’ treatment of exciting loan players continues to raise questions.

Winger Arzani has five full Australia caps and earned rave reviews for a series of breathtaking cameos at the World Cup as he showed Hoops teammate Tom Rogic how it’s done.

Yet he has been ignored by Rodgers, has yet to make his Celtic senior debut and has failed to even be included in the first-team squad since joining during the summer window.

Still in the Australia squad and set to play in this week’s friendly against Kuwait, the national team have a clear pathway for Arzani’s development.

Rangers and Celtic never trade players due to their rivalry, but the Glasgow giants can pounce on Arzani when he is back at City and do a deal that would instantly strengthen their attack.
