A section of Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to blast the display of first team winger Kenedy in the 0-0 stalemate with Southampton on Saturday.
The two sides played out the goaless draw at the St Mary’s Stadium without either side really threatening too much, with United recording zero shots on goal for the entire match.
Many Newcastle supporters were not pleased in the slightest with the performance of one of their first team players, with some comments including “all satisfied with doing the bare minimum” and “absolute disgrace”.
COMMENTARY
It is evident that the Newcastle fans are rather frustrated with their loanee midfielder, and it is easy to see why. For the past few games, he has looked rather lacklustre and this is just not good enough from a player who aspires to be in the Chelsea team one day. Like one supporter said, his display was rather “uninspiring”, and they could not be further from the truth. All of the midfielders played their part, but Kenedy was one of the worst on Saturday – he looks a shadow of the player that he was last season. Rafa Benitez looks to have replaced him with someone else, because he certainly is not playing the way he used to. The Magpies are not going to get a win when they have first teamers performing in this way, and the faster he gets his head down and starts improving, the better. However, Newcastle still remain at the bottom of the Premier League – and this game does not really hold out much hope for them, especially as they had no shots on goal.

Yes man, after 20min into the match, I was like… where is Kenedy? But it must be said, that #NUFC is attacking Soton down the right first 35min. Last 10min Kenedy got into the game. Must be said that the lack of confidence is low. Easy to see, A win here going to be huge.
