A number of Wolverhampton Wanderers supporters have slammed winger Helder Costa for his performance against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.
The 5ft 10in Portugal international [Source: Transfermarkt] delivered a lacklustre showing as his side fell to a 1-0 defeat at the AMEX Stadium.
Costa was far from the only Wolves player who disappointed, but the club’s fans have rounded on him in particular after weeks of sub-par performances from the 24-year-old.
COMMENTARY

They have been incredibly patient with the likes of Costa and Diogo Jota but it’s evident that those players are struggling to make the step up to the Premier League. Costa is a wonderfully talented footballer, that much is clear, but he’s only scored one goal all season and it came in the Carabao Cup against Sheffield Wednesday. He hasn’t been able to replicate the scintillating form he displayed so regularly for the club in the Championship over the last few years, and he’s becoming to resemble something of a liability on the right hand side for Wolves. Nuno is extremely loyal to his players, but there comes a point when enough is enough. In the eyes of the Wolves faithful, it certainly seems as if that time is now for Costa. Nuno’s got a wonderful team at Molineux but they are missing a bit of attacking thrust, and that’s because of the underperformance of players like Costa.
