A section of Celtic fans on Twitter have been left worried by Brendan Rodgers’ decision to start Eboue Kouassi in the BetFred Cup semi-final clash against Hearts on Sunday.
Kouassi, 20, was hardly convincing in the Hoops’ 2-0 defeat to RB Leipzig on Thursday, but stays in the starting line-up, as confirmed by the club’s official Twitter account ahead of kick-off at Murrayfield.

Some Celtic fans seem as though they would have rather Rodgers did not name Kouassi on the teamsheet for the game, with one saying that he’s “not a fan” of the rarely-seen midfielder.
COMMENTARY:
Kouassi has only made 21 appearances across all competitions since joining Celtic and is yet to convince the majority of the club’s fanbase. You can see from these reactions here that the midfielder strikes fear into the heats of some supporters, but he can put all that to bed with a solid performance against Hearts this weekend. Rodgers’ side is suffering from a number of injuries at the moment and if players like Scott Brown and Youssouf Mulumbu were fit, then there is no way that Kouassi would be in the starting line-up. The fans just need to get behind the Ivorian enforcer and pray that he puts in a better display than on Thursday night because he was pretty poor against Leipzig. Hearts are nowhere near as good as the German side but they have beaten Celtic once already this season and they are still top of the Scottish Premiership.

Bit unsure about Kouassi in this game. Bit of relief Hendry isn't playing.
