Aston Villa travel to Carrow Road to take on Norwich City on Tuesday evening as Dean Smith looks to build on his winning start to life as boss, and he must make just two changes to his starting XI.

Smith started his reign with a narrow 1-0 win over Swansea City on Saturday as Tammy Abraham scored the only goal of the game to give the Villans their first win in four.

Opponents Norwich are having a solid season so far under Daniel Farke and will be coming in with confidence and momentum after a 2-1 away win over Nottingham Forest.

Smith does not have to make many changes to the side which beat the Swans, with Villa putting in a good performance despite the narrow victory.

In goal, Orjan Nyland must start as normal.

A back four of Alan Hutton, Axel Tuanzebe, James Chester and Neil Taylor must remain in place.

Smith is set to be forced into a change in central midfield, with John McGinn serving a one-game suspension after picking up his fifth yellow of the season, meaning that Conor Hourihane must start in his place alongside Birkir Bjarnason.

In wide areas, Ahmed Elmohamady should keep his place on the right after a brilliant performance against Swansea, while 6ft 1in mainstay Albert Adomah [Transfermarkt] should be axed in place of the rarely-seen speed machine Yannick Bolasie on the left.

That leaves Jack Grealish in the number ten role just behind Tammy Abraham, who is already showing his goalscoring ability after a summer loan move from Chelsea.
